The painting “Garden of Zen” by Frank Hong gets a nearly perfect mountain wallpaper review. It is a beautiful piece of art with great lighting, shading, and details.

This matte painting depicts a beautiful Asian village in the middle of a lush mountain valley. A stream and waterfall create interest and movement in the piece starting at the left hand side. The mountains look rocky, but green and lush. The picture looks like a quiet morning.

“Garden of Zen” creates so much for the eye to take in with its incredible layering. This creates a great three dimensional feel. It takes a few minutes of studying to appreciate the entire image. The item that draws the attention first is the source of light at the top of the hills. The only thing that may confuse somebody is the sphere at the crest of the mountains. This could be depicting the sun, but does not seem to be the source of light, as the light looks as if it is coming from behind the clouds. This sphere looks as though it was meant to be a main focus since it is almost right in the middle and right by the source of light. The artist does not make the translation perfectly clear.

Gardent of Zen is a Fantastic Mountain Wallpaper

Another striking aspect is the incredible detail. The light values coming across the painting are perfect. The light is depicted by a lining on each rooftop, and on each rock on the mountain range. No detail was overlooked in this painting. Every single rooftop in the village is beautiful, and there is no stone forgotten. Every piece of this painting has its own perfect place, creating an awesome balance of each element in the painting.

The title “Garden of Zen” is a perfect match to this piece of art. Every aspect of this artwork looks as though it was created to inspire feelings of serenity and peace to anybody who may appreciate it. None of the shades used are very intense, which adds to the peace. The lovely, mild tones are mixed with the intensity of the jagged rocks of the mountains creating an interesting contrast. Another noticeable contrast which adds interest is the village. The perfect, clean lines of the village against the jagged mountainside create a neat effect. The eyes seem to be dragged against their will along every line in the image.

Frank Hong’s “Garden of Zen” gets a great mountain wallpaper review, and it is a great choice of art to add to any office desktop.

Author: Reali-t

This wallpaper, featuring a beautiful snow-topped mountain peak, offers a thought provoking insight into nature and its mysterious power to inspire and enrich.

The image, by the artist who goes by the name Reali-t, is, in its entirety, well-composed and draws the viewer in. Although the mountain peak, whose range is in the background of the work, is what initally attracts the eye of the viewer, the additional aspects of the image are what contribute to its exceptional construction and perspective, and what keep the viewer engaged on this image longer than others.

The foreground shows a body of water, consisting of a series of relatively level rapids on one side, and an eddying pool on the other. This body of water, in its entirety then proceeds to unexpectedly drop over steep rocks, into an impressive and treacherous-looking waterfall.

This foreground view suggests that the image’s perspective is from some lower position that is still on a mountain range. The pool of water that is not in the direct water current, and before it encounters the sudden change in elevation, is calm. It beatifully reflects the rich blue and white of the sky, which is scattered with cumulous clouds, suggesting clear and cool mountain air, and a perfectly sunny day for a hike in the mountains.

In the midground, before the impressive elevation of the mountain peak, which is, as previously mentioned, the initial and primary focus point of the perspective depicted, is a dense and textured expanse of forest and shrubbery. This vast expanse of green appears to consist of a number of different types of conifers or different size and age, and seemingly extends for miles, until the forest is abruptly cut off by the steep elevation of the mountain range in the distance.

The steep elevation of the mountain range reveals just how rapidly the climate must change as higher points on the mountain are reached. The mid section of the mountain appears to consist mainly of jagged rock and limited vegetation, and the upper third of the peak is covered in pristine white snow that glistens, and appears to never have been touched by a living being.

Overall, this mountain wallpaper depits a breathtaking landscape that encompasses a vast and rugged terrain of undisturbed beauty. It is an inspiring perspective that fills the viewer with awe and wonder at the power and mystery of nature.

Author: Andree Wallin

On first looking at Andree Wallin’s “Mountain Tops” painting, I feel a sense of being drawn upward in space. I am getting an eye level view of some very high mountains, without the labor of climbing and the health risk of altitude sickness. Wait a minute, maybe I am feeling a bit of altitude sickness! No, it is just fear of heights from looking down on those clouds.
The dark foreground and the bright sky in the back which I take to represent the “future” appeal to me. But my eyes continually return to the clouds in that high valley. What a wonderful place for adventure would be in that mist. Is it Shangra La or Brigadoon? I do not care for the summit so much, but I adore the mist. I want to go there.
The mountains, the clouds and the blue sky are just a backdrop for the misty valley. The shadows on the mountains have no appeal. The darkness of those mountains overpower the shadows and even the darkness of the rain filled clouds. There is no storm or tumult in this painting. There is no peace or solitude either, just the intense longing for a Shangra La.
I can hear Bloody Mary singing “Come away” from “Bali H’ai”. Can you hear it?

The softness of the mist in that valley cancels the rough and ragged mountain tops. I am drawn to the obscure and gloaming valley. Yes, it is twilight or just before twilight, and not daybreak, folding this scene in its embrace.

I do not expect to find heather growing in that valley. What appears to be trees on the mountain on the right side must be glacial rocks. Oh, no, it is global warming. It is much too high for flora or fauna. Yet, I can go there. I, and only I, will inhabit that magical valley, and I will not be lonely because the mist is a living force that will cradle me in its arms.
Now, I can find this place inside me. I have a misty valley surrounded by high, eroded, and unascendable mountain peaks
in me. I am untouchable. I am invincible. I am in control of my destiny. Rats, no, I am not.

The artist completed this painting in six or seven hours, and I have worked a lifetime and I am still not there. Good job, Andree.
